The connection method of a wireless mouse refers to the technical protocol used to establish wireless communication with a computer. This mainly includes multiple wireless technology standards such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Infrared (IrDA), and ZigBee (IEEE 802.15.4). Early wireless mice primarily used 27MHz RF technology, later evolving to 2.4GHz and Bluetooth technologies.
27MHz RF technology uses the 27MHz ISM wireless frequency band, has a short effective transmission distance (approximately 1.8 meters), supports only unidirectional transmission, has relatively high power consumption, and lower security. 2.4GHz wireless technology operates in the 2.4-2.485GHz ISM unlicensed frequency band, achieving a transmission efficiency of up to 2Mbps, employing automatic frequency modulation technology, and supporting bidirectional transmission. Bluetooth technology also operates in the 2.4GHz ISM band, using adaptive frequency hopping technology to achieve full-duplex transmission. NearLink technology is an emerging short-range wireless connection technology that, compared to traditional wireless connections, offers advantages such as lower power consumption, higher speed, lower latency, stronger anti-interference capabilities, and the ability to connect more devices in a network. Based on the types of wireless technologies supported, wireless mice are mainly divided into single-mode and dual-mode connection modes. Single-mode wireless mice support only one wireless transmission protocol, such as 2.4GHz, and are relatively simple in structure, lightweight, and have long battery life. Dual-mode wireless mice integrate two wireless technologies, most commonly a combination of 2.4GHz and Bluetooth. Users can switch between different modes via a physical switch, improving device compatibility and convenience for mobile work, but their battery life is usually shorter than that of single-mode mice.
Wireless mouse connection technology is continuously evolving towards "low latency, high stability, and wide compatibility." In the future, in addition to iterations of 2.4GHz and Bluetooth technologies, new technologies such as StarFlash are expected to become widespread in the high-end market. Meanwhile, AI algorithm optimization, intelligent switching between multiple devices, deep integration with the IoT ecosystem, and environmentally friendly and energy-saving design will become important development trends.
