Performance refers to the internal parameters and technical specifications of a mouse, primarily determined by the sensor. A high-performance mouse allows for more precise, stable, and smoother operation. Performance depends on objective data and test results. Generally, we can judge performance based on the following indicators:

 

Sensor: The sensor is the core component of the mouse, responsible for detecting mouse movement on the mousepad and converting it into cursor movement on the screen. The type and brand of the sensor affect the mouse's recognition accuracy and stability. Generally, optical sensors are superior to laser sensors, and the self-developed sensors of brands like Logitech, Razer, and SteelSeries are more advanced than those of other brands.

 

DPI: DPI is an abbreviation for dots per inch, representing the number of pixels the sensor can recognize per inch. Higher DPI results in more sensitive mouse movement but may lead to inaccuracy or oversensitivity. Lower DPI results in less responsive mouse movement but may also lead to lag or stuttering. Different people have different preferences for DPI; generally, DPI can be chosen based on screen resolution and usage scenarios.

 

IPS: IPS is an abbreviation for inches per second, representing the maximum movement speed the sensor can recognize per second.
